SYNOPSIS
Pericle, an elderly retired school teacher, lives in a remote mountain village. One night, during a heavy snowfall, Pericle receives the letter written by an old lady, one of his schoolmate (Veridiana) who warns him of his precarious state of health. She encourages him to his bedside to bid her farewell. She would soon be dead. So that night, Pericle made the acquaintance, of Goffredo, her nephew sent by Veridiana. The boy led him to her. Goffredo, reveals himself to be a young and very eccentric character, who helps him in the undertaking . Pericle together with his new friend would go to Veridiana’s house by an old train. But surprisingly, Veridiana, makes its appearance directly on the train, creating astonishment and amazement in the elder Pericle. Several turn of events along the way, will make this trip a real search about questions and answers. Among many disclosures there will be an encounter with a famous character in cinema / television. A journey that will transform the nature of Pericle, toward redemption, courage, values of friendship and the rediscovery of drowsy love. It will reveal to be a retrospective journey of the soul in search of serenity. A surprising and sad final ending shows the pivot of the whole adventure, detecting the true identities of characters, that will bring the audience to a completely unexpected key to fairytale..

SYNOPSIS
1944. A U.S. soldier is going to write a farewell letter, blaming the cruelty and horrors of war. The mood and feeling of mankind devastated by the power and the cruel wickedness, contrasts with the right to live and loving. His distaste for the war leads him to perform from there at a short time an act of desperation. For his sensitiveness and his will to live, the horror of war is too bigger. But the farewell letter conceals a hidden truth and definitely unexpected. The plot with an amazing shot in the final scene permits to appreciate a suggestive location, and a multi-faceted character of the protagonist. All these aspects will lead the viewer to reflect on the state of mind of a soldier in time of war. The main character takes on himself a very heavy individually mission and we can’t perceive the subtile line of boundary between “Good and Evil”.

Twelve high quality coloured photographs, six representing biological entities and six man made artefacts, were selected from a published dataset. Stimuli were matched pairwise across the two domains of knowledge for visual complexity (p=0.753), visual familiarity (p=0.345), name agreement (p=0.109), frequency of word use (p=0.173), age of acquisition (p=0.115). The 12 to be learned items are presented in three consecutive trials, four at each time. The four stimuli used in each trial were balanced for visual complexity (p=0.618), visual familiarity (p=0.491), name agreement (p=0.119), frequency of word use (p=0.683), age of acquisition (p=0.986) and number of letters (p=0.352).
For each trial, a card with four pictures is placed in front of the subject. In the study phase, the subject is asked to point and name aloud each item (e.g. “rose”), when the corresponding category cue (“flower”) is given verbally by the examiner. After all four items are correctly identified, the card is removed, and immediate cued recall of those four items is tested by verbally presenting the four corresponding cues. If the subject fails to recall an item in response to the corresponding cue, the card is shown again, the item must be selected and named, and then another opportunity of immediate cued recall is given to the subject. Once immediate recall for a group of four items is completed, the next set of items is presented, continuing until all 12 items are identified and retrieved in cued recall. This procedure confirms correct initial encoding.
The memory phase then follows. It is based on 3 subsequent recall trials, each preceded by a non-semantic interference task (counting backwards for 20 seconds).
Each recall trial consists of two parts. First, each subject has up to 2 minutes to freely recall as many items as possible. Once free recall is completed, the cued recall of any non-retrieved item is tested by presenting the corresponding category cue (“what was the name of the flower?"). If the subject fails to retrieve the item with the category cue, he / she is verbally reminded of the item.
After 30 minutes, filled with non verbal tasks, a delayed recall is proposed to the patient using the same procedure as in immediate recall.
Each trial is scored for the number of recalled items. In this version of the FCSRT, six derived scores are calculated:
(a) immediate free recall (IFR): sum of free recall in trials 1, 2 and 3 (range 0 – 36)
(b) immediate total recall (ITR): sum of free and cued recall in trials 1, 2 and 3 (range 0 – 36)
(c) delayed free recall (DFR) (range 0 – 12);
(d) delayed total recall (DTR) (range 0 – 12);
(e) Index of Sensitivity of Cueing (ISC) : (IFR – ITR) / (ITR – 36) (range 0 – 1)
(f) number of intrusions.
The ISC allows to evaluate the efficacy of semantic cues to facilitate retrieval from stored information; in the case of IFR = 36, ISC is set to 1.
